Friday was our first real day out of the hospital and in the hotel. Robb is starting to think about short term apartment rentals. We ate in the hotel and walked around the neighborhood, to Times Square. Like the Hong Kong World Trade Center, Hong Kong's Times Square is actually a shopping mall. A story in the local paper today is about the investigation into tourist agencies that bring Asians to Hong Kong, take them to a shopping area, then refuse to let them back on the bus until they have made purchases. The stores are all very western, the models on clothing and cosmetics ads are always caucasian. Robb says he was told that you need to be careful buying cosmetics here because just about everything includes a skin lightener. Notice the huge poster of Gwyneth Paltrow at the top of the escalator, signaling the cosmetics counter.

Robb's eye is a little less bruised and a little more open today. We had dinner in a restaurant at the top of the hotel, with a great view of the harbor, skyline and ships.
